How To Train Your Dragon 2 has rocked my entire year. It surpassed my expectations and ripped my heart in two just as much, if not more than the first one did.

If you haven't seen it yet, GOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I cannot draw a single thing or amount of things that will do justice to the love I have for these films, and Cressida Cowell's amazing world.

I drew this thing for a little collaboration that Michael Ruocco, a friend of mine, started on Twitter a while back, where everyone came together and contributed a drawing of a Silly Symphonies character of their choice, from a list of selected characters.

I couldn't help but jump on the opportunity to draw the Big Bad Wolf dressed in his fairy disguise!

My friend wanted to get a bunch of people to animate sharks, and I've been meaning to get back to animating regularly again, so I made this cute little guy! I think I'll call him Spike :3

It's not perfect, but it was honestly more of a challenge for me to get something animated out quickly with a good level of quality. I actually like how it came out personally!

Your Move

I love designing gnarly, grody old characters.  In this case it's a smelly old sea lion that hangs out in front of his fruit stand, challenging whoever walks by to a game of checkers.

For the background, honestly, it was mostly loose mid-day color/light practice.  I still feel like I need a LOT of practice with this stuff!  I was really inspired by Portofino Harbor in Italy for this background, I love the bright, sunny, colors on the buildings!
